Bauer Power donates $25,000 Solar System to Help Rebuild Greensburg, Kansas

On May 4th, 2007 an F5 tornado leveled the rural town of Greensburg, Kansas. Just days after the storm, the community came
together and decided to rebuild through sustainable efforts, striving to become a model green town for the future. Ever since
this landmark commitment was made, Greensburg GreenTown -- a grassroots community-based organization -- has worked
side-by-side with city and county officials, business owners and local residents to incorporate sustainable principles into their
rebuilding

After hearing of the disaster and meeting Daniel Wallach, GreenTown's Executive Director, and learning more about his efforts to
rebuild with a commitment to sustainability, Bauer Power CEO Mark Bauer knew immediately he had to contribute to the cause.
He came through big with a $25,000, 2kW pole mounted solar system.
Bauer commented, "This was a town that was almost wiped off the map by a tornado, and as a result of this disaster, is redefining
itself as a green building model for the entire Midwest. Even though we don't do business in Kansas, I felt compelled to
contribute to this incredible rebirth. It was just the right thing to do."
Daniel Wallach expressed his gratitude for the donation. "I was thrilled, the GreenTown board was thrilled and the most important
element of our first Eco-Home project was in place after this amazing gift. We were encouraged and inspired that someone so far
outside this community had the vision and understanding that was required to make a gift of this magnitude. It was a huge vote of
confidence that encourages us every day when we see that beautiful system producing clean energy for the Eco-Home. Thanks
to the generosity of our partner Bauer Power, the Silo Eco-Home now boasts an impressive 2KW solar PV system. This
pole-mounted array consists of twelve panels manufactured by Sharp. The installers were in-and-out within less than three days.
And what we're left with is beyond a work of art."
In conjunction, Bauer Power was featured in the shows GREENSBURG that airs on Planet Green while the solar system was being
installed.
